Roy Garner leads the Oaksters every Friday in the Forever Fitness class in the Summer House.
Granny Nannies has sponsored Forever Fitness at Bay Oaks for the last 2 1/2 years. This month owner Meghan Phelan Goicouria (photo below, right with Ms. Cottle) presented our resident guests with trophies for their participation.
Restaurateur extraordinaire Josh Marcus brought a taste of his deli to Bay Oaks on his birthday yesterday.
His birthday tradition is to give back to the community, and we were the lucky recipients. Josh (left, below) and his friend Danny Serfer prepared the homemade mini-bagels with cured salmon and cream cheese. They also served pastrami on rye and macaroni salad.
The event was even covered by the Miami Herald. The photo collage below is by Herald food editor Evan Benn. Here is a link to his article: http://www.miamiherald.com/living/food-drink/article23137233.html
At Bay Oaks, every resident guest chooses their favorite cake for their birthday. Ms. Gould asked for strawberries, and she gets them.
All our resident guests participated in another Easter favorite: the Easter egg hunt. Here Ms. Cottle shows off the collection of eggs she found.
Don’t look now, but there’s one more behind you!
Our Easter weekend began with the “traditional” Easter pinata. Here she is ready to rain her treats.
Everyone took a turn swinging at the egg to reveal her contents.
Ms. Meyer, Mr. DeAlmeida and Ms. Fernans pictured above were some of our Oaksters who tried to coax the candy out of the Easter Egg pinata.
But in the end, it was Claude Esprit who had the last whack!
