Happy 100th Birthday

Ms Fleming 100 birthdayMs. Lenore Fleming (above) recently celebrated her 100th birthday at Bay Oaks with her daughter Ms. Susan Fleming. It was a triple celebration since we also celebrated the 96th birthday of Ms. Mozelle Begeman (pictured below) who was visited by her son Dr. Fred Begeman and  the 30th birthday of Ms. Marjorie Gould’s grandson, Alex Gould.

Bay Oaks goes Deli when the Deli comes to Bay Oaks

Restaurateur extraordinaire Josh Marcus brought a taste of his deli to Bay Oaks on his birthday yesterday.

His birthday tradition is to give back to the community, and we were the lucky recipients. Josh (left, below) and his friend Danny Serfer prepared the homemade mini-bagels with cured salmon and cream cheese. They also served pastrami on rye and macaroni salad.

The event was even covered by the Miami Herald. The photo collage below is by Herald food editor Evan Benn. Here is a link to his article:  http://www.miamiherald.com/living/food-drink/article23137233.html

Birthday Celebration

Ms Gould Birthday 2015

At Bay Oaks, every resident guest chooses their favorite cake for their birthday. Ms. Gould asked for strawberries, and she gets them.

Easter Egg Hunt

All our resident guests participated in another Easter favorite: the Easter egg hunt. Here Ms. Cottle shows off the collection of eggs she found.

Easter Piñata

Our Easter weekend began with the “traditional” Easter pinata. Here she is ready to rain her treats.

Everyone took a turn swinging at the egg to reveal her contents.

Ms. Meyer, Mr. DeAlmeida and Ms. Fernans pictured above were some of our Oaksters who tried to coax the candy out of the Easter Egg pinata.

But in the end, it was Claude Esprit who had the last whack!
