As recounted by Mr. Claude Esprit.
For my 70th Birthday, my friend, Luis took me to the Science Museum.
When you go to the museum, they give you a map of all the exhibits on four floors. We started as the top where there was a huge water tank with live sharks. They also have coral habitats and highland habitats on display, with small live alligators, crocodiles, snails and birds. They had another tank filled with jellyfish, coral, angelfish, and more. I enjoyed the museum very much.
They had a lot of nice exhibits, a restaurant, and their gift shop had great books! I bought one about space and another about the history of the Miami River.
My favorite part was the planetarium. They give you 3D glasses and we watched an asteroid show called ‘Asteroid Exterior.’ The show includes an astronaut talking talk about asteroids hitting earth, meteor craters, a crater in Siberia and more. It’s a lovely show and I learned a lot.
On the first floor, there is a platform that you can walk on where circles of color illuminate under your feet.
I had a lovely time in the museum. When I got back to Bay Oaks, I shared the story of my birthday trip with CB Gaines and my neighbors. We decided to go next time all together.
One of my favorite things about living at Bay Oaks is all the place we get to see together. So far this year, we have also gone to Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor, the Palm Beach Zoo, and we even saw the last Barnum & Bailey’s circus ever to come to Miami.
