Residents Go Cruising

Bay Oaks residents have the best of both worlds, living in the urban paradise of Miami by the bay. Biscayne Bay is less than a block away from our main building, making it a popular destinations for evening walks. Last week, some of our residents and staff decided to explore more of Biscayne on an Island Queen Cruise.
We boarded the Island Queen at Bayside Marketplace and got in our seats for the afternoon tour of Millionaire’s Row. Some of us enjoyed the view from inside, others from the bow.
Mrs. Van Leeuwen, Mrs Chauser, Mrs. Barton, Mrs. Jensen, Mrs. Kassner.
Dale Glass, Mrs. Swerdloff, Mrs. Rouse.

Bayside Marketplace is one of our favorite places to spend an afternoon. There are lots of shops, live music and, of course, the view. The cruise was fun for not just the view, but also the special taste of history. We took in the sights of the Port, Downtown Miami and the City of Miami Beach, and we enjoyed a live narration describing the homes of the rich and famous living along ‘Millionaire’s Row.’ Many residents shared stories about how they remember ‘Old Miami’.

Everyone had a chance to see Miami’s modern skyline in a new way.
